Lemon eucalyptus
Have you heard of lemon eucalyptus? Its scent is somewhat reminiscent of lemongrass, but its repellent effect is even more effective at keeping mosquitoes away. In fact, according to Health Canada, lemon eucalyptus is the second most effective product against mosquitoes after DEET. This means that lemon eucalyptus is crowned the big winner of natural repellents. These are the reasons why we selected this plant to develop our eco outdoor spray.
Geranium
The addition of rose geranium was important to us because it provides repulsion against ticks, which we all know are increasingly present in Quebec.
Catnip
Finally, our third key plant is catnip. This has a proven track record of repelling mosquitoes and it was inevitable that we would add it to our product to make it as effective as possible.
