Cold
Place in the freezer for at least 2 hours in a resealable plastic bag to prevent it from absorbing food odors. Remove from the bag and place on the skin.

Warm

Microwave: Remove the cereal pouch from the cover. Heat for 30 seconds in the microwave (1000 watts) and return the cereal pouch to the cover. Test the bear on an adult's skin before placing it on a child's skin to avoid the risk of burns. Do not overheat.

Oven: If you do not have a microwave, simply preheat the oven to 450 F and wait approximately 4 minutes for the oven to reach the desired temperature. THEN TURN OFF THE OVEN. Place the cereal pouch directly on the rack and wait 4 minutes without turning the oven back on. Remove the bear from the oven and place the cereal pouch back into its cover.

Be sure to check the bear's temperature on your forearm BEFORE applying it to your child.

To wash the compress, first remove the grain pouch from the cover. Wash the cover only, in the machine, with cold water. The grain pouch is not washable. The cover withstands machine washing and drying very well at medium temperature.
If the bear or compress has absorbed freezer odors, place a few drops of vanilla essence in a small glass of water, then place it next to the grain pouch in the microwave and heat for 15 seconds. The odors should diminish.
The bear and compresses are made of a 100% polyester Minky fabric cover, and a cotton pouch filled with a carefully selected blend of grains.
